WHO WE ARE
About Acton Academy Calgary Central
Acton Academy Calgary Central is Alberta’s only Acton Academy registered with and accredited by Alberta’s Ministry of Education.
This ensures we meet all provincial requirements for:
- Health & Safety Codes, Licensing Requirements, and City Bylaws
- Insurance coverage
- Minimum curriculum standards
- Certified teaching and leadership staff
- Student reporting and monitoring regulations
We are operated by the not-for-profit Acton Academy Calgary Central Society, guided by a dedicated Board of Directors committed to delivering an exceptional learner-driven education.
Our financial structure aligns with independent schools—allocating resources to create the highest quality learning experience—while our not-for-profit status ensures any surplus is reinvested directly into our school and learners. We have no shareholders, no dividends—only a mandate to serve our community.
We are currently in the process of securing charitable status from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Once approved, we will be able to issue tax receipts for donations, further supporting our mission to make world-class learner-driven education accessible.

We prepare learners for the future by nurturing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and leadership through student-led governance. Responsibility for one’s own education is paired with the ability to contribute meaningfully to a community.
